Interpretation of this assignment is based on my daily intake over a period of two days by using method of estimation of dietary intake. Food Intake record method was used to record my daily food intake, then the results was compared with BMI ratio, NRVS values and Food and nutrition’s guidelines. This is method is an inexpensive and easy way to find a person’s daily intake is balanced or not and if not, it helps to change their balance diet and healthy life.

According to the daily food intake records, my average daily intake is 11487kJ, but the Food and Nutrition guidelines recommend that the daily median energy intake for adult female is 7701kJ per day. It is obvious that my daily intake is 3000kj more than the recommended level of energy intake. This energy values indicate that I am following unbalance diet or poor eating habits.

Macro nutrients take major part in controlling balance diet. Now I am comparing my average daily intake of macro nutrients level with food and nutrition guidelines. The guidelines recommends for an adult female, the daily intake of Protein is 71g per day, …show more content…

Change in energy intake or output leads to positive of negative energy balance. Positive energy balance result in body tissue being deposited as fat and increase in body weight. Negative energy balances result in body tissue being mobilised and a loss of body weight. Amount of intake of food and amount of undertaken physical activity is determining the state of energy balance. Energy is used by the body for physical activity, metabolic process, growth and replacement of new tissues. The Excess energy is stored as fat which possibly lead to overweight, obesity and slowing the physical activity. It is clearly visible that my daily intakes include more macro nutrients. My excess energy intake of 3000kJ clearly shows that I fall in the overweight or obesity area which leads me to investigate about
