Different Constitutions The system of beliefs and laws by which a country or state is governed is a document called the constitution. Thomas Jefferson and Dekanawidah wrote their own constitutions for their people. Jefferson wrote a constitution for the United States and Dekanawidah wrote a constitution for the Iroquois. The U.S. Constitution and the Iroquois Constitution both have similarities and differences.
The Iroquois constitution and the United States constitution are very much alike, but they are also very different. A lot of things changed between the fifteenth-sixteenth century and September 17, 1787. These changes are extremely evident in the way the documents were written. The Iroquois constitution came into effect sometime around the fifteenth-sixteenth century. It was written by Dekanawidah, who was the leader of the Iroquois tribe as well as the six nations It was written to end the war and bring peace.
There are many similarities between the PA state constitution and the US constitution. However, there are also many differences between the two. These differences include certain rules and laws that the country has, but cannot enforce on the state. To start, the Us constitution states the right to declare war, which is a right focused on the state government, not the general civilization. This fact is a common difference between the two constitutions.

The United States Constitution and the Iroquois Constitution both have many similarities and differences. However, the Iroquois Constitution came a couple centuries before the United States Constitution, so some of the ideas that were in the Iroquois Constitution are now included in the United States Constitution. But this does not mean these constitutions are the same, and this paper is going to help explain some of the ways they differ and share ideas. The first of the similarities is how the Iroquois have what they call the " Tree of Great Peace." This compares to what we have with the three branches of government.
Not only is there a federal government, but there are also state and local governments. Furthermore, there are forms of government that function on a higher basis than local governments, but on a lower basis than state governments. Although the federal government has overall control on how the country functions, the other forms of government have a considerable impact on the laws of each area. All states have varying laws that lie along the same lines. For instance, the age to get a Driver’s license is not the same from state to state, but they are around the same age.
Each party present during the drafting of the Constitution had their own ideas about what it should accomplish. As a result, it was very difficult to formulate a document that appeased all groups and parties, who often voiced their opinions of how it should be written. The U.S. Constitution was the father of many worries concerning the rights of the people, the role of government, and the balance between the aristocrats and poor, the government and the people. The Federalists, or supporters of the Constitution, were not completely satisfied with the task they were given. They were supposed to revise the old Articles of Confederation, but they felt like it needed to be completely rewritten.
Let’s begin with the very beginning The Preamble. The Missouri Constitution and United State Constitution start off with the preamble, explaining the people’s rights, as well as providing guidelines on how the government will be run. Both constitutions contain the bill of rights. The United States constitution Bill of Rights contain the first ten amendments, whereas Missouri has thirty-four sections. Together they have in common an executive, judicial, and legislative section.
The U.S constitution and NYS constitution are similar regarding separation of powers divided among the executive, legislation and judicial and were the intention of establishing local authorities to protect people ’s right. As Bowman state, state constitution represents the fundamental laws of that state, which provide a set of rules, regulations, and procedures (Bowman 47-48). These constitutions were designed similar to the US, therefore transferring over its strengths and weakness. In NYS constitution, the legislation lies with the senate and assembly, the governor holds the executive power, but it does not specify it judicial roles, except for the court systems (Pecorella and Stonecash 106 and 113).
Being one of the more “advanced” tribes, the Cherokee thought early about making sure they could do everything possible to create preventative measures against having their land taken away. Before there was a more serious federal discussion on removing the tribe, they were working hard to becoming a more “civilized” group of people to become more accepted by regular Americans and to better themselves. In order to both help their case and further the process of becoming civilized, they set up a constitution which closely resembled that of the US Constitution. In the Cherokee Constitution, it allowed them to set up an actual border around their territory and set up a government, both which were signs of earlier resistance against their removal
Throughout history there have been links between the Iroquois constitution leading to the basis for the American Constitution. A constitution’s role is to help their country and benefit the people so things stay balanced and never lose control. As proof continues to build up, it shows that like the Iroquois the constitution holds several similar qualities on how to handle the economy and people. It has been thought, that the Iroquois have put the lining for the American guidelines. Though there are things that show to be the same, there are subtle differences that slip and show through.
and Texas Constitutions are similar documents. They both represent the principles of representative democratic government, in which power originated from the people. Both contain a bill of rights that protects civil liberties from government infringement, both provide for two branches of legislature with a House of Representatives and a Senate and both request a system of checks and balances and separation of powers between legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government. They also both divide government power between upper and lower levels of government. In the U.S. Constitution the states are subordinate to the federal government, and in the Texas Constitution the counties are subordinate to the state government.
The US Constitution vs. The NJ Constitution The Constitution of the United States of America is what ensures the people have to freedom to do with their lives as they want. What many don’t know, is each state has its own Constitution that cater to the individual states. The New Jersey Constitution is made so ‘all persons are by nature free and independent’ and much more. It is important to realize both nation and state constitution are a vital part of our everyday lives.
The Oklahoma Constitution and the United States Constitution have a variety of similarities and differences, thus creating an array of topics of discussion. The very structure of the state 's constitution holds close similarities to the U.S. Constitution, given the fact that it was ratified over a century later. At the time of the making of the Oklahoma Constitution, there were arguments between the left and right areas of the state. These arguments were based on the fact that the people involved in the making of the state 's constitution wanted to have the area that was labeled "Indian territory" and make it a secure part of the state of Oklahoma. After doing so, the two areas merged and created the document that the state still uses to this day.
The Texas and Maine state constitution are both used to govern their respective states.
