Alcohol and Marijuana are some commonly used drugs in the United States. There are a differences between the two such as; marijuana is the number one ranked illegal drug and alcohol is the number one ranked legal drug in the United States. Both drugs are used to alter people’s personality and behavior however alcohol is consumed by drinking the substance and marijuana is consumed by smoking the substance. Due to the fact the marijuana is illegal and alcohol is legal many people believe one is less harmful than the other one. Alcohol is typically used and abused by many teens and adolescences. Most of the users are under the age of legal drinking and purchasing. There is more risks in younger people who purchase alcohol are more likely to participate in binge drinking and being involved with driving under the influences. The article states that the purchase of alcohol leads to user having a heavier marijuana use and abuse to alcohol. Driving under the influence is one of the leading cause of deaths to teens in the United States. Alcohol does not affect the body right after using unlike marijuana. This leads to users drinking more because they do not have any affects from the drug. Depending on your body weight and heights depends on how long and how much alcohol it takes to get someone considered “drunk”. Alcohol can totally change the personality of someone and they can blackout and have no memory of what happened when using the drug. However teens use marijuana and it affects their lungs and the user is affected by the drug almost immediately after the use of the drug.
