In the modern world, it 's common to see adolescents talk about how they 're looking to find their special someone. The "one" usually refers to someone to whom they will commit the rest of their lives to. Commonly when people believe they 've found their significant other, they will introduce them to their parents; as the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with. For many, the freedom to choose who they want to be with is a pretty big deal; There are those whom lacks that privilege. Commonly when this right is pried away from a young adult, it is replaced with a marriage of order. These arranged marriages follow pre-determined plans set out by family or guardians; With little or no say from the child. This type of marriage ideology is quite common in Middle Eastern cultures. The way westerners view arranged marriages in the Egyptian culture differs from the way Egyptians view this on-going tradition.

As it stands, there are also horrible types of arranged marriages. There is no denying that these common horrors perpetuate the hatred towards this subculture of marriage. There are many cases where younger women, many times children are married to older men. Situations where women are sold to their husbands, and live in slave like conditions. We even see marriages where there actually is no choice in opposition, you literally are forced to marry whomever is chosen for you. It 's understandable that these horrific types of arranging marriage subcultures are often widespread in the media, causing a massive backlash towards arranged marriage in general. As we can see, the issue lies deeper than a singular form of arranged marriage . When presented with a better understanding of the non barbaric types of arranged marriage, we see people getting educated and losing their once held ignorance towards a believed constant arranged marriage; One that was full of evil, inhumanity and stripped of basic human
