“Fetal Tissue Fallout, R. Alta Charo, J.D., September 3, 2015” In this article R. Alta Charo states that we have a right to use fetal tissue for research and therapy (Fetal Tissue, 1) The article goes into how a lot of people find this to be a moral issue and a matter of the conscience and explains how the antiabortion activist that don’t agree with the research are actually benefitting from the fetal tissue. They argue that the research supports abortions but have taken part in receiving vaccines and therapy that comes from the research. R. Alta Charo begins by talking about the argument over the antiabortionist activist who pretended to be a research company representative and gave out false, edited information from a Planned Parenthood video that goes over the services they provide.
Assessments are a teacher’s tool that builds a profile on student’s growth and are the “tell-tell” detectors that provide the with teacher information on a student who may need additional services in and beyond the
Ice Break questions: 1. If you have questions about these kind of subjects, you can talk to a doctor and ask advice to family members. Doctors have studied it and are specialized in it so they can help you a lot with it. Family members are always helpful for advice, because they experienced it in the past. 2.
3) I have read the book Tuesdays with Morrie before and I have thought about this question before as well, I always understood that what Morrie meant by experiencing emotions and then detaching from them meant that you should feel emotions and that they are an inevitable part of life, but you need to feel them and then get over them. I think that it is possible and a healthy way of looking at emotions because you are still validating your own emotions and reactions to certain situations but you aren’t letting your emotions overwhelm you. I think detaching yourself from a situation can be helpful if you need to be in complete control of yourself or if you are in danger of any kind. If you are in danger it is better to be somewhat detached from
I had three mistakes on my 4th discussion board assignment. The first one was on paragraph 6 part I. I didn’t finish defining and explaining the types of point of views. Now I have learned the types of point of views and their explanations: 1st person (I), 2nd person (you), 3rd person, and 3rd person omniscient. The second mistake was found on paragraph one Part II. I didn’t mention the point of view used in the story, which was 3rd person omniscient, because the narrator explained Max’s actions and what was in his mind.
1) Are any of the questions you are focused on in your life deep questions? Yes, the questions are very deep. 2) To what extent are you questioning you purpose and goals? It is to the point to where I feel like I am felling at achieving them.
NAME: DISCUSSION LEADER: Name: Discussion Leader: Approximately 50 errors. “ALIENS” “Good God hes taller then they said”, marveled Uncle Randolph. We were staring at the alien it had just exited the ship, and was staring back with it’s big eyes. “I thought all the scientist said that they were suppose to be little dudes, he must be eight feet at least!” Everybody in America seemed gripped by alien fever, I’d just read an article called, I Married an Alien in my favorite newspaper The New York Times.
Assessment in learning and development plays a key role in any education as it allows the assessor to keep track of learner’s work they have completed or completing which then can allow for targets to be set for the learner. This is where the assessment cycle comes in – Plan, do, review. This can then motivate the learner and also provide the learner with feedback and constructive criticism when
Discussion Board Psychology as a field of science is much younger compared to other sciences. It was not until the mid-1800’s that psychology separated from philosophy and began a scientific approach. It has been over a century since that time, but in that short amount of time our lives have greatly improved. Even though life went on before psychology existed and things were okay, life would be much more bleak and difficult today had the field of psychology never been properly developed.
Educators worried that Common Core assessment in the classroom would take away from instructional time for students. Teachers also wondered if in early education, children would be tested like older children through pencil/paper or computer-driven assessment. Another point brought out by teachers was if results of Common Core assessment would be used for high-stakes including accountability systems for teachers and programs. Lastly, there was the question of whether or not decisions about students, mainly retention in grade, may be based solely on the results of Common Core assessments. To answer these questions, Common Core researchers reminded teachers that assessment is an ongoing process and in order to improve teaching and learning, teachers must continually engage in assessment for the purpose of improving teaching and learning.
Is Calma great at understanding relationships? “Calma why don’t you give you father another chance?” “No mum he doesn’t deserve it” This proves that Calma is not that great at maintaining relationships, she never understands that giving others a chance and listening to them is the best way to solve problems not just jump to conclusions, and think whatever she thinks is always right.
For this analysis I’m going to be reflecting on how you can gain authority in a new discourse community. The discourse community that I am going to be looking at today is a high school tennis team. I was interested in reflecting on this topic because when I first started playing tennis on my high school team I didn’t have any authority. Then suddenly after one match I was one of the most authoritative players on the team and continued to be so for the rest of the season and the next year. This genuinely confused me at the time and I have never gotten a clear answer to why I suddenly had so much influence.
Various linguists and/or writers have different opinions in relation to their definitions of a discourse community. Even though it may be different from other authors, I define a discourse community as a group of individuals willing to exchange efforts and some with similar interests with a finality of contributing positively to a given society. For instance, a basketball team, has as focus the conquest of championships, which at the same time will give the fans something to cheer for and will also attract more tourists; thus, helping a given society financially. The University of Oklahoma is a university located in the United States of America, Oklahoma State, and in the city of Norman (where I study).
Classroom assessment and grading practices have the potential not only to measure and report learning but also to promote it. Indeed, recent research has documented the benefits of regular use of diagnostic and formative assessments as feedback for learning (Black, Harrison, Lee, Marshall, & Wiliam,
As a student you are assessed everyday based off of almost anything; involving class participation and behavior to turning in assignments and taking exams. However, teachers don’t usually receive feedback or get assessed by their own students. It’s common for a student to be inclined to be the one to grade their teachers but, some students haven't been given the opportunity to. Students should be able to grade or assess their teachers because it provides incentive for the teacher, assists teachers to improve in areas where they could be lacking, and provides a proper evaluation of their teacher.
