This idea often causes confusion for children when someone they look up to, such as a parent, dies but there are mean and awful people still alive. There previous knowledge and the media that they are absorbing support the idea that their amazing parent should have lived and someone bad should have died. Children are often underestimated in their skills and level of understanding.
