Dolly Parton is a country music artist born January 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tennessee. From a young age, she showed lots of interest in music. Deciding to pursue a career in the music industry proved to be successful because now she is one of the most known country music artists in the world. One reason why Dolly Parton deserves to be on the stamp is the fact that she has multiple awards from her career in the entertainment business. Ranging from world records to multiple other awards, she has a total of 2 world records related to her singing career in country music. One for being on the top 20 hits for 2 decades and the other for surpassing other female artists with over 107 hits to make the chart. Only people like that are worthy enough to get a stamp devoted to them. Having a world record is a very hard thing to achieve and Dolly Parton has done it twice. “She has garnered eight Grammy Awards, two Academy Award nominations, ten Country Music Association Awards, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and is one of only seven female artists to win the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year Award” (singers.com 2).
