Cloning once seemed like a science fiction, but in the science today it seems like it’s possible. Dolly the sheep was born 1996. She was the first cloned animal to ever be alive. She had major health problems and only lived for 6 years. This made a big change in today 's science. Dolly the sheep was part of reproductive cloning. Which is very different from therapeutic cloning. Therapeutic cloning occurs when the cloned embryos created through SCNT have been allowed to grow for a few days and then killed for their stem cells. In my opinion, I don’t think cloning should be allowed unless it 's for a good cause.
Dolly the sheep was the first animal to be cloned, but it took them 277 attempts and 13 surrogate mothers. Dolly also had health problems, and didn’t get live long.
