Cloning is the process of creating identical DNA. Human Cloning is a very controversial topic and many people have their own opinions on it. Human cloning can lead to the curing of many diseases and helping people via the use of stem cells. Human cloning can also help stop illegal activity and benefit many people along the way. Some people believe it is unethical but the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. Human cloning can lead to the curing of many diseases and saving many lives.We are now able to produce human embryos, from those embryos we can collect stems cells.
In a BBC article it states that “Now a team at the Oregon Health and Science University have developed the embryo to the blastocyst stage - around 150 cells - which is enough to provide a source of embryonic stem cells” (Gallagher, 2013). Stem cells can be used to cure diseases. ES cells are the most versatile type of stem cell because they are less committed to a certain function.The best way to get stem cells is from a clone of a person because there is no way the cells can be denied. As stated in this article, “ The vast majority of these couples desperately want to have children and they treat their children as children” (Silver, 2012). Cloning can help eliminate the transplant list and it can also help eliminate the illegal black market of selling organs.
