Earlier that evening Jessica’s parents left her in charge of her four younger siblings Iris, Jessie, Blaze, and Nicki while they went out for date night. In the state of New Jersey there are many restrictions being added on teen drivers. One being to make sure teens are not out past their driving curfew they have to add a red trim piece around their license plates, so police have a higher chance of knowing if teens are out past their driving curfew of eleven o´clock. Teens tend to overrate their skills on the road and underate the risks of the road (Zermike 6-7). One way teens tend to overrate their skills is by texting. Texting is a easy way to become distracted, and to forget about driving.
When discussing smacking, there are a myriad of topics, theories and debates that can be brought up, especially should smacking children be banned which is one of the major issues in our current society. Smacking has been happening everyday in our daily life and we are able to clearly see it in our society. No matter where we come from or the different cultural backgrounds, we are growing up with at least getting smacked by their parents once in our childhood’s lives. This morning, 9/11/15, I left my car in the commuter parking lot on griffon ave at around 8am. Upon return to my car around 6:40 I noticed a larger dent and part of my taillight smashed. Unfortunately whom ever did this decided to not leave any information. I am concerned that this happens often in this parking area the parking spaces are barely large enough for one car. On top of having small spaces many people do not park straight and often hang over into other making a tight space even tighter.
Teens practicing their driving more in general, as well as having more experience in potential serious scenarios, would greatly help the cause. Also, teens discussing serious local accidents can make them more aware of just how possible it is for this dilemma to become their own dilemma. A foolproof way to make teens drive more safely is for their parents to make them pay their own tickets and fines (#9). Ultimately, one of the biggest influences for teens is their family, and how their families drive is no exception. Passengers are a huge problem in regards to teen driving.
There have been tons of wonderful, inspiring, and intriguing speeches in the world throughout time. From Martin Luther King Jr’s “I have a Dream Speech”, to the “Gettysburg Address” written by Abraham Lincoln, or even a speech by a girl or guy running for class president. Either way, while listening to these great speeches, a thought might cross a person’s mind that says “man, this is a great speech. It is so inspiring. I agree with everything this person is saying”.
