Research Paper The very first automobile was created by Nicholas Joseph Cugnot. This vehicle, however, was steam powered and did not require gasoline. The actual first modern automobile,which required gasoline, was created by a German inventor by the name of Karl Benz in 1885 or 1886(Who Invented). Ever since then, driving motor vehicles has been a very popular way of fast and reliable transportation. Driving a motor vehicle has many consequences as well as benefits. To possibly minimize those consequences, 50 hours of driving alongside an adult is required before teenagers can begin to drive by themselves(Teen Driver). According to some people’s point of view, “We can’t forsake the studies that prove that minors, those under the age of 18, easily succumb to peer pressure, do not easily recognize dangerous situations, and are willing to disregard the rules in the search for an adrenaline rush”(Should Driving Age Be Lowered). Everyone knows that teenagers are easily convinced to do things due to peer pressure. Peer pressure can be used to tell the driver to drive faster and risk an accident, turn up the volume and risk getting a ticket, or even using convincing the driver to do other illegal acts like buy alcohol, fights, etc. Another example of teenage pressures being an issue while driving young is, “If we don't trust them with guns, why trust them with something that weighs two tons and can go as fast as 150 mph?”(Should Driving Age Be Lowered). This quote is completely true because if people can’t trust young teenagers with guns why should they trust them with a fast and heavy automobiles that can easily kill people when even the slightest contact is made. Like previously mentioned, teens can be pressured by their peers to drive their vehicles extremely fast and risk crashing into other drivers.jThis shows that the driving requirement age should be increased because of the teenage life, and peer pressure which can be easily used to convince …show more content…

Statistics show that, “ Reaction time is a key thing in driving. the younger you are the faster your reaction time is. witch will decrease the amount of accidents that happen... Teens have better visibility when they are younger than when they are older”(Should Driving Age Be Lowered). Allowing these young teenagers to drive will improve their experience with driving, however, allowing these teenagers to drive at such a young has too many risk in general. Also, although these facts may show that young teenagers have better reaction speed compared to older drivers, again the risk in letting these young teenagers drive is just too high. There are many claims in why the driving age should be lowered however it is totally unnecessary for such young teenagers to start driving that
