Think of how often people see someone pulled over by the police, now think of how many times the person being pulled over is a young person. Almost always every time right? For years people have been debating over the driving age for teens because of the safety, Decision making and the overall experience level and the awareness of a youths mind. So many innocent lives have been taken because of reckless and irresponsible driving of teens . The driving age should be raised. The driving age should be for eighteen year olds and up because fifteen year olds and sixteen year olds are just too young and they're minds are not fully developed and aware. The leading cause of teenage deaths is car accidents. Getting the most dangerous drivers off the road will not only save many lives, but it will make the roads safer . …show more content…
One little mistake or a simple glance off the road can be the cause of someone's life being at risk. According to www.debate.org its states “Most teens think sending one text message while driving is no big deal.” but thats all it takes to make one mistake. Everytime you blink something is missed and every time you glance twice as much is missed it takes longer for the eye to glance than it does for the eye to blink. Drive-safely.net states “Many argue that youths decision making skills aren't fully developed at 16.” This means teen are more likely to be making a bad decision on the road. Overall the current age where teens are allowed to get their license at shouldn't be allowed because youth are not even mentally stable yet. And they're way too unfit for their age not being able to drive may reduce the teen obesity
