All teenagers live for the day they get their license, it's the freedom they’ve been looking for all of their life. It even makes school a little bit better when we can drive to and from school. It’s a sense of adulthood for a second. The driving age shouldn’t be raised it will take away from teens freedom, jobs, and even could affect grades.
Personal Experience Coming from a teen that is about to get their license I think it would be ridiculous if the age was raised. The freedom that comes with driving is what we look forward to. If it is raised to 18 that is practically when we are in college with busy towns and streets, the last thing a new driver needs is stressful situations. Lots of teens will ask for rides from their parents who also have jobs and don’t have time to drop and pick them up. It could be a bad situation for the economy if businesses don’t have loyal employees. Jobs could be lost and businesses could possibly shut down. No one wants these things to happen to anyone, but most of all not our community!
History
When thinking about the past when young kids were starting driving at very young ages to help on the farm or wherever needed. When you take freedom away from teenagers they want to rebel and get as close to trouble as they can, which will lead to law breaking and who knows what else. If teens can’t drive to school do you think they won’t take their anger out on teachers or even students. If the age gets moved to 18 teens will feel as kids instead of adults and will act like kids if they get treated this way. Although, I do see where some teens are immature at 16 and aren’t ready for their driver's license. It would be frightening to see them on the road by themselves making their own decisions.
