I perceive myself as someone with many ambitions and interests; and yet, I cannot recall an exact moment when my aspiration for nursing became prevalent. However, there were many instances in my life that lead to my definitive decision of becoming part of a nursing profession. I remember my determination to improve the quality of life on a global scale initiated from my research activities in high school. I was involved in a two-year study with my mentor Zhong Qi Cheng, a professor at Brooklyn College, on an alternative treatment of wastewater using Effective Microorganisms (EM-1).
