Witness The story witness is a very interesting story. And in the book Esther hirsh is one of the main character. she is 6 years old. She is important because she is not racist.
The Ewells and Cunningham families in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee or complete opposites of eachother. The first way they vary is in their appearance. The Ewells don 't care what they look like so their “necks are dark grey, backs of hands are rusty, and fingernails black deep into the quick” (27). However, the Cunninghams look as best the can with a “clean shirt and neatly pressed overalls” (19). Another way they differ is their education.
In school students do not care about writing as much as they used to. If they would work harder in school, their grades would be higher and more colleges would want them. In Esther Cepeda 's research, she managed to prove that students test scores are going down. That is because they do not work as hard as they used to.
Not only is it important to read, understanding what you read and being able to "engage" with the material is an important factor that is directly involved with another of the prerequisites for obtaining success in college. World War 1 which was known as the “great war” was a very important war in the 20th century. World War 1 was one of the bloodiest and violent wars because of the impact of technology. Machine guns were one of the earliest weapons useful for World War 1. Poison gas was first used by the germans but had the potential for being far more effective in the war. Tanks were invented because the trench warfare type of fighting was extremely slow and unpredictable.
The (EYFS) is the Early Years Foundation Stage which is a framework that includes the legislation and standards to keep children safe. Parents and carers trust us to look after their children and it is our responsibility to keep the children in our care safe and away from any possible harm. All employers must meet certain rules to make sure everyone is safe in their place of work. Also they must be aware and careful that there is no risk of injury to anyone. It is also a number of legal requirements and regularity that we need to know about to help us protect children and adults in the setting.
Now as a teacher himself he finds his students struggling to put words on paper and express themselves. He blames the educational system for his students inability to write with their own style and voice. Ballenger stresses the ability to write is more about the topic and the student’s interest in the essay than the grammar and structure of the essays. Transitioning from high school to college can be overwhelming. Before English 1301, I did not worry about preparing for college. I quickly realized that my little background in writing essays was not enough for college courses. Writing is not just a skill that I will need for English classes. In college, I will have to use effective writing skills in all my classes to complete research papers, essay tests and communicate with professors.
Arming students with the skills and strategies necessary for not only improved writing, but improved reading will positively impact student academic achievement in high school, on the standardized tests and in college and so it seemed like a topic worthy of
Lamonte, I enjoyed reading your post. I have never been that good at writing; however, honestly, I’m not good at spelling. Being out of school for so long, I never thought I would make it this far without giving up. For me returning too school, I had to make sacrifices; therefore, I wanted to further my education. According to my advisor, an English course is needed for me to graduate.
Every student wants to be successful. However, the success of students around them causes them to exert even more, and sometimes unnecessary, work on their classes. This includes binge studying for a test to be sure that they do better than the students in the class, or as mentioned by Zinsser, “writing ten-page papers to impress them [the professors]” when five-page essays were actually assigned (Zinsser). Because there are students that do this, others feel the need to add more writing to their essays in order to reach the levels of those students.
My Writing Experience In previous courses, my writing skills have been mediocre or just enough to pass the class. Throughout the duration of this course, I have written a variety of papers using different techniques and skills. Previously I would write assuming that the only audience would be my instructor. This course has helped me realize that there are many steps and skills involved with writing a well-organized and easy to comprehend essay.
Reading competence emphasizes the ability to process text and derive meaning and understanding swiftly and automatically. As illustrated by Byrnes and Wasik (2009), attaining reading skills requires learners to utilize their knowledge of the alphabet and sounds. Reading instruction aims to foster comprehension and promote fluency, enabling learners to read and understand text fast, accurately, and effortlessly. Reading literacy for young children in Kindergarten to Grade 3 is of great importance as it forms a critical foundation for their future academic and professional success. These learners are in different points of learning to read, and include emergent, early and fluent readers (Byrnes & Wasik, 2009).
