Student readiness for college and post-secondary options for underrated and disadvantaged students are analyzed for their relevance to the decline in high school graduation rates and preparation. The transition from high school to college brings forth challenges that students may not be familiar with. New college students often have to adjust to higher academic performance expectations, increased levels of responsibility and autonomy, and social acclimation. Early College High School (ECHS) programs provide students with additional resources and experiences to assist with this process.
