Eden Foods is the oldest natural and organic food company in North America. They began as a co-op grocery store in the late 1960s in Ann Arbor Michigan. Eden Food led the way of providing natural foods to consumers during a time organic food was simply not available. It was originally a nonprofit, but became a for-profit company in 1970. Shortly after, Eden Food’s began importing Japanese foods, in addition, to their current local products. The company emphasizes being local; Most of their food is grown a few miles to a few hundred miles from home base.
