Poe is thought to be one of the most successful writers of horror. This is right in terms of his stories that he had written. The best examples could be “The Cask of Amontillado and “The Tell Tale Heart”. These stories were written in the view of murderers and are first person-limited. And these stories have both similarities and differences by means of themes, motifs, symbolism.
I am here today to prove Mr. Poe's innocence and I hope to show you, the jury, that Mr. Poe is being wrongly convicted. I have found a series of evidence that proves that Mr. Poe is insane and is not capable of knowing what he is doing is wrong. He does not think like we do. He hears things that we don't hear. He is an insane person that needs to be put into Mental Hospital.
Edgar Allan Poe once said “Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary.” On September 28, 1849 Poe arrived in Baltimore but had disappeared and no one knew where he was for a couple of days. He was given money by John R. Thompson before his trip over to Baltimore from Richmond but when he was found sitting outside of Ryan’s Tavern, a saloon that at the time was also a polling place for the elections, he was found by Joseph Walker with no money on him and had seemed to be intoxicated and weak. Due to the fact that Poe was found outside of the saloon/polling center seemingly drunk and delirious, with no money, weak, and strange clothes, “cooping” can be viewed as the most plausible cause for his death.

Our friend Edgar Allan Poe has passed. Edgar was born on January 19, 1809 and died on October 7, 1849 in Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 40. He was adopted by John and Frances Allan after his parents; Elizabeth Arnold Poe and David Poe were deceased. The Allans baptized him as Edgar Allan Poe on January 7, 1812. In 1814, he begun school, and in 1815 the Allans leave Richmond and move to England.
His most successful science fiction story however, is “The Unparalled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall.” The story is about a guy trying to get to the moon by a revolutionary new balloon, which is known as an air balloon to us today. Things that Poe wrote about in his science fiction stories were very true predictions of what would actually happen in society. Poe has influenced so many writers and people from his revolutionary science fiction works. The science fiction genre is a multi-million dollar industry in the entire world.

He placed great importance on the American Scholar’s willingness to think for himself and come up with his own ideas. A consideration of some of Poe’s firsts will prove his innovation as a writer and thinker. With works like “Murders in the Rue Morgue,” and “The Purloined Letter,” Poe is credited as the creator of the detective story. Poe is also credited with contributing to the advent of science fiction with works like “The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar.” Poe also wrote works of horror never seen before in stories such as “The Black Cat.”
Though Edgar Allan Poe’s short stories like, The Cask of Amontillado, to his poems like, The Raven, Poe’s shows his writing style to use physical imagery and connotative syntax to show ,imagery in his writing. Throughout his life, Poe had always lived through the most chaotic and evil of time. His parents died while he was 3 years old. After his parents died, he lived with another family member who never accepted him as their own son. Later on in life, Poe had served in the military and at that point he started writing poems.
