Dark, author, and horror are three thing that describe Edgar Allan Poe. Many people knew that Edgar Allan Poe was a poet, but it is the only the tip of the iceberg. As a well known poet, Edgar Allan Poe inspired the world that they can write horror. He left a lasting event as a person of darkness.
Before Poe was born, David and Eliza found each other and started loving each other. David and Eliza got married and they had three wonderful children . One of those wonderful children was Edgar Allan Poe which was born on January 19, 1809 in Boston Massachusetts (History.com).

Then, the orphans got adopted by the Allan family. The Allan family loved Poe and his family. Poe was getting spoiled by his new family. Poe loved his new family and he also loves school.

He found love at school. His love’s name was Sara Elmira Royster. Poe and Sara were in a relationship he thought, but then then he heard that Elmire was marrying a man. He was so sad when he heard the news. Poe also had some financial problems.
Poe thought he had a great future because he got a $110 dollars from his foster father until he had to buy things for his school. Poe also wrote poems during the army. Poe did missions and bounties. Poe also paid one guy to do this bounty with him. After the military Poe went to the United States Military Academy in New York. Poe want to get kicked out of the academy, so he wrote to his dad to kick him out. His foster dad did not listen and ignored the letter, Poe took matter into his own hands. Poe disobeyed his schedules and did not do his exercise.
Poe started to write poems and he sell them to people. Poe wrote his most famous poem “The Raven” in 1845. Poe also wrote poems to remember people. Poe finely finished Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque which is a series of stories. In the story it contains scary tales. Poe made a new genre and that genre was detective. Poe won a literary prize in 1843 for the story “The Gold Bug.” (CobbleStone)
