The scene I am analyzing is the second march attempt of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The mise en scene in this scene allows the audience to register emotionally with what is happening. In this scene, black and white marchers have come together to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge to reach the capitol of Montgomery. There is a use of deep space to start the scene. The entire bridge is in focus and we see all of the marchers. The three-point lighting on this scene allows us to really focus in on the main characters, allowing the audience to register with their emotions.
