I liked a lot of things in this book and chapter such as how Lewis explains the two types of Faith and how each relates to God. Book Three covers morality and the seven virtues of Christianity. Lewis’s explanation of each of these virtues is in depth and lends a certain amount of clarity to the Christian who is striving to understand Christianity’s role in modern society.
Lewis’s explanation of morality is that it consists of three parts; 1) social relations,
2) inward morality and 3) the direction or goal. He likens this idea to a fleet of ships.
Social relations is akin to the fact that the ships must not crash into each other, in other words we have to be careful not to harm others. Inward morality is taking care of ourselves t o be sure

For the Christian, the goal is always to be in a right relationship with God and to wind up in heaven for all eternity.
One very interesting thing Lewis says is that you cannot make men good by law and without good men you cannot have a good society. Today’s society seems to think that if they just pass enough laws that somehow each individual will choose to do the right thing, but choosing to do the right thing comes from the condition of the heart not from external influences.
One thing that is addressed is that everyone should work, not just to give them something to do, but so that they have something to give to those who are in need. All people should give to poor people because poor people do not have what they need.

Addy - this looks like you copied it completely from some other writer. It's not in your voice. I'm super confused right now. Let's talk.
Poor people do not feel like they are worth anything because they have nothing. One of a Christian's main goals is to love others, which is shown in the directive “to love others as himself.”
One rule of giving might say ten percent, Lewis puts forth that we should

As Lewis explains each of these, one can come to see why each is pivotal to Christianity. It seems as if society today has no use for common sense. We are not to behave as fools, we are to be wise as serpents. We are to study to show ourselves approved.
Christians are to be experts in all different walks of life, We need Christians who are experts in the fields of economics and medicine, law and legislation. Everyone wants to have things their way but none seems to be seeking the good of others.
An area that Lewis spends some time on is the idea of what loving our neighbor really is.While he quotes the fact that we are to love our neighbor as ourself, he goes on to say that it is not a feeling based love, but caring for the good of the other person.
He also takes up the old idea of fake it til you make it.Meaning that if you are good or nice to someone then you can learn to love them and care about them.
This is a concept that can be applied in schools across the country and would end the entire bullying issue. If each of us would make an effort to love our neighbor as ourself and reach out to those that are outcast then the whole turning of the inward
