My topic was about the economic effects to Canada and United States if the pollution increased around, and in the great lakes. As time passes by the pollution is building up in the great lakes, and some people are leaving it unnoticed. Overfishing in the great lakes is not a new matter. It has been going on for quite a long time now. There has been reports that overfishing in the great lakes region of the United States and Canada started as early as the mid 1800s. Fisherman sells the fish as commercial, and domestic foods. Although people would think that that is already a big enough issue there is unfortunately more to it. Another issue that is very similar to this particular one is the inappropriate ways of fishing. The great lakes also attract lots of tourists. The tourists like to go on boats near the lakes, and look at the view. The tourists go as far as fish in the lakes, and some of them are unfortunate not very well experienced. It is actually a more of a problem that the majority of the people would think, and when an inexperienced fisher fishes there are many elements that are at risk. First of all the fisher is at risk, the species, and lastly the lakes. It is not a surprise that overfishing is a problem in the great lakes where the water is most attractive water ever. Fishing is an enormous part of agriculture. Especially in the old time where the resources were limited, and the people didn’t have many choices like today. There were only a few choices, and one main one of them was fish. Also fishes were a huge product that the people exported and imported all the time, and it brought it a lot of profit. Also if you’re touring the Great Lakes one of their major activities are things like diving, boating, and fishing. It shows how much the people are interested in fishing, and since fishing is used in everything it is not a surprise there is an issue with overfishing.
