In order to minimise and eliminate all aspects of bullying in our school I am aiming to equip the students of Mrs Kelly’s class with enough relevant knowledge about the three main types of bullying, so that they may know how to properly handle a bullying situation and understand why it is not healthy for one another's well-being to bully others or subject ourselves to it. These three main forms of bullying are physical bullying, verbal bullying and cyberbullying, and I believe that each student should have a broad understanding about all types of bullying in order to protect their peers and their own well-being. This is relevant to the population of students we have decided to target, because the year 7 and 8’s are at the age where they are most vulnerable to the chances and effects of bullying, and also approaching year 9 where studies show that bullying occurs the most out of all year groups. This means that they’ll need to know how to identify bullying and learn how to respond to it in a appropriate way so that they don’t put the bully’s well-being at risk as well as their own.

Physical bullying entails a more violent behaviour compared to the other forms of bullying, it is action oriented and typically involves shoving, tripping and any form of hitting. This only applies to situations where one person intentionally causes bodily harm to another person on repeated occasions as opposed to on accident or a one off. Physical bullying also commonly involves an imbalance of power between the bully and the victim, in saying this a bully will most likely target someone they believe is of less ability or weaker than them, with an intention to hurt, embarrass, or intimidate this person.
