Have you ever read a great fiction book that includes thrills and has endless suspense? Orson Scott Card adds many exhilarating mo. Card tries to tell us that no matter what type of personality someone has, they can change as long there is an event powerful enough. There are many instances in story where characters personality change whether they become more mature, dominant, or caring. For an example, Ender changes from a violent, aggressive child that did the wrong thing for the right reason to a person who wants to set things straight after he was deceived by Graff and the command school personnel. Ender had aggressive behavior that gave him flash backs of him turning into his older brother Peter. He got in a fight at school right after he could his monitor removed. The school later on sent two agents to Ender’s house for questioning. One of the agents named Graff, asked Ender why did he hurt Stilson. Ender replied “Knocking him down was the first. I wanted to win all the next ones, too, right then, so they’d leave me alone” (25). That was the exact mentality the agents wanted their recruits to have. They have been fighting a race of alien named buggers that once tried to colonize Earth; so they wanted to beat the buggers once and for all. Ender also had another duel with Bonzo, commander at battle school. The duel happened because Bonzo told Ender to lose on purpose; Ender disobeyed Bonzo's orders and won his team the game. While Ender was in the shower, Bonzo tried to fight him.
