Action Plan
New policy would be to implement a class that the high school would teach about informative literature and count it as an English elective class.
The steps to pass a new policy is to present the problem and the solution to the English board and department where they will accept the class. Mrs.Leatham and other teachers will present the class to the school principal and his advisors; they will then place the class into the next year's optional classes.
The English department teachers will need to support this plan if it is to be put into the high school. Many of the English teachers recognize that students misunderstand what they are reading and that they need help that is not offered in regular English classes. A large problem is that teachers have little room to help students because the many rules, tests, and due dates that teachers are required to have and cannot find the time to help improve the student’s learning ability. …show more content…

Students and others have a hard time admitting that they need help it's not in most human nature. Students struggling with reading may not want to be seen going to a comprehension class. What can be done about this? The name of the class has a big effect on who takes the class. Making a name that seems appealing and to comfortable to say when talking to friends allows people to not be self-conscious and will be a fun class to associate with. Having teachers promote the class to students that they see struggling with grades and understanding the class guidelines will also bring students to go to informative literature class.
The Literal Problem group will go as far as possible to encourage this course and will talk to the head of the English department to pass this class as public policy. They will do this by presenting the facts and information to school teachers in the English department and help present to the school board on the
