The day had come for Boxer to leave the farm and go to the hospital. Napoleon at midday went over alone to Boxer and told him it was time to leave. Napoleon made sure they walked slowly past all the other animals, so they wouldn’t notice. As they got to the van Boxer started to think how it was going to be at the hospital, all he knew was the farm, he never experienced anything else. As Napoleon was helping Boxer into the van Boxer noticed that there was blood all over the floor of the van however he didn’t think much of it because due to his loyalty to Napoleon. The car suddenly sped off and all Boxer could see was Napoleon waving his trotter and face covered ear to ear with a sly smile. Clover quickly galloped off and tried drastically to get Boxers attention and notify him of what was happening. Boxer clearly heard her voice, yelling his name and at that moment his gut feeling went off. He had a bad feeling about getting in the van however he thought that Napoleon is always right, so he can't be going to die. He started lashing out with his hooves trying as hard as he could to break the back of the van and get out. However, after about 2 minutes of non-stop kicking whilst failing to free himself he had lost his fuming adrenaline rush and finally realised he couldn't get out. His brain started ringing and whilst breathing deeply thought, "how…. how could napoleon do this…. he was the leader…. Everything he said was right… why did he betray me!!!!!" Boxer blacked out… Boxer awoke to being in a 5 by 5 metre holding cage. Boxer quickly was worried where he was. He had no clue what life was like apart from the farm and stories he had heard. He quickly glanced his eyes side by side and couldn’t believe what he saw. At first, he thought he was having a nightmare but then it clicked. Hundreds and hundreds of horses were hanging by giant metal hooks all skinless and with severed heads. He threw up. But then he heard a distant whistling sound approaching. A man no older than his late fifties wearing all white clothes drenched in blood opened the cell with Boxer. He grabbed Boxer by the ears and aggressively pulled Boxer further down the abattoir. Boxer tried to fight it but every time he did the man would shock him with an electric cattle prod. They passed by large drums of foul-smelling grinded up meat. The man forcefully placed Boxers head in between a giant guillotine. The emotions of Boxer’s life drastically flashed right before him, his constant hard work and struggle through pain thinking a rainbow would be on the other side when his retirement came.
