"The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving tells the tale of school teacher Ichabod Crane and his short lived time in the town of Sleepy Hollow. Sleepy Hollow is a small quite town that is very superstitious and is said to have many different spirits roaming about. One of these includes the headless horseman. When Ichabod comes to this town he becomes the schools headmaster and people quickly start to learn that he is a selfish know-it-all who believes he is smarter than everyone there. He starts a choir for the church with a side goal of getting to know Katrina Van Tassel. Katrina is a very intelligent beautiful young women who almost every guy in the town is chasing after. Then Ichabod, a very superstitious man, starts becoming paranoid and frightened especially when its night time. One day Ichabod receives an invitation from the Van Tassel's saying that there is a party being thrown. During the party Ichabod drinks a little too much and starts becoming a little belligerent. After the party Ichabod, still intoxicated, proposes to Katrina and gets rejected badly based off the fact that Katrina doesn't believe Ichabod loves her but loves her family fortune. Then on the way home, Ichabod starts panicking when he hears strange noises in the woods all around him. Eventually he is startled when he sees the headless horseman. After a lot of chasing and more panicking the horseman gets knocked off his horse by a tree branch. Then when Ichabod walks over to the horseman's motionless body he discovers it's Brom. Then after a bit of gloating, the real headless horseman appears Ichabod is then knocked over and is unconscious. Brom ended up with Katrina and Ichabod Crane was never heard from
