Even though he wasn’t the greatest kid, Eric Clapton eventually became a big time musician of the 1980s. Clapton had a rough childhood which may have shaped him into the musician he is today. He was also faced with some struggles as well many accomplishments. Eric Clapton was a great musician, including being with bands such as The Yardbird and Cream, He also impacted the blues with his guitar playing and won many Grammys as well as being elected into The Hall of Fame a few times. Some of the singer and musicians of the 1940s-1950s as well as his family were an inspiration for Eric Clapton. At a young at Clapton saw an amazing performance by Jerry Lee Lewis. Sometime after seeing the performance, he asked for his guitar. Clapton’s family liked listening to well-known musicians of the 1940s-1950s. His father was a naturally talented in the musical arts, and his grandma played the piano ( Gulla, 2018). Without theses inspirations Eric Clapton may have never went into the music industry. Clapton was ditched by his mom at a young age. He ended up having to live with his grandparents. Because of this, Clapton grew up as a nasty kid. Not having his real parents raising him caused Clapton misbehave as a child. (Parel,1983). At the age of nine Clapton learned the truth of his parents. The truth of this parents hurt him severely ( Gulla, 2018). Clapton's was told real mom was his sister and that his uncle was his assumed older brother. (Marshall,2018).
