While some may feel they have the proper driving ability to text and drive, the statistics show that those people are wrong. Statics show that texting and driving causes a distraction that is dangerous to not only to the driver, but also other commuters as well. This causes an obvious danger to everyone on the road. What is terrifying about all this, is at any time in America, about 1% of drivers are using some sort of hand held communication device.
One of the most dangerous things about texting and driving is the decreased braking reaction time, so much so, it has been observed that those who text and drive generally keep farther distances to the car in front of them.
