Should studying be a student only job as Boshoven said? According to the U.S Department of Education 78% of undergraduates work while in college. One of the main reasons is to pay for tuition. College tuition is rising. An economics professor, Keving Long, said “students feel they need to limit their borrowing and therefore earn more of the tuition, and maybe since the labor market is not all that good they’re getting less support from their parents.” In other words working while in college has its advantages and disadvantages. Even though both have to study hard to pass. Students who work while in college learn responsibilities and money management. Professors are more demanding that high school teachers. Most to not say that all students must spend a couple of hours daily to do assignments and study. Which is doable until finances and debt steps in. Many undergraduate must work in order to pay for tuition. Making it impossible to spend all the necessary time to studying. It also divides the school into two different groups; students who work and students who don’t. Both groups have the same goal, to graduate and earn their diploma. They also have a thing in common, loan debts. After one graduate the average amount of debt is around $30,000 according to a report from the Institute for College Access and Success.
