When you think of two public figures that talk about Racism, Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Lincoln come to mind. These two have hidden connections between them. In history, they are connected together as both of them were assassinated as they were addressing the topic of racism in the U.S. They are known for their immense oratory skills. In addition, their speeches were ranked the best in the world. The lives and work of Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln gives some comparisons and contrasts between them as two prominent public figures. The similarities between Lincoln and luther are governed by their fight for the peoples rights. Martin Luther King was killed on the month of April 14, 1968, ten days before Easter. Lincoln passed away on Good Friday just prior to the Easter holiday. Lincoln was shot on April 14, 1865, and died on April 15, 1865 from complications from the gun shots. These two have further connections in terms of their families and life. Both are the second born in their family. King and Luther have one sister and two brothers each. The two had four children each, but two of Lincolns died before they were teenagers. April 4th has a significant meaning to the lives of King and Lincoln. MLK was assassinated on April 4th of 1968. The fourth son of Lincoln was born in April 4, 1853. The suspected killers of both Lincoln and King died in the month of April. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, at 39 years old while Lincoln was assassinated on April 15, 1865. The suspected assassins of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King are suspected to have some connections from other people to kill the public figures. James Ray who killed King had been under instruction from third party. The family believes that the assassination was a conspiracy that involved even the government. Booth is suspected to have been killed as he was being pursued by union soldiers. Others believe that Booth was not killed and escaped. Lincoln was a United States Congressmen in Illinois from March 4, 1847 to March 3, 1849 when James Ray was
