Chris Kyle is a man who put himself through situations not many people have to experience or want to experience. A strong willing man with a family but also a country he wanted to fight for. Chris Kyle was a person who is willing and wanted to do everything possible for his country. Although sometimes that mindset got in the way of his family time. He did everything he could to help his war brothers and his family at home. There is a quote that can hit a reader deeply because he talks about one of his brothers (a friend in war) dying. “Why hadn’t I put myself there?” (Kyle et al.) This really should and can speak to a reader. That quote shows just how much he wanted to help his friend out. He wanted to put himself in the position that his friend was in. Chris wanted to give up his body so that he could save his friend or keep his friend alive. He always thought that he could have done more to help his friend and when he was unable to, he felt as if he had let his brothers down. That really shows how much he cared about his friends. His friend was most likely shot. It is a scary situation to ever think about but he was willing to give up his body, future, and family to help another person out. He was always willing to move forward with life. He never seemed to dwell ever when he might have wanted too. Another quote spoken by Chris is “I had all sorts of motivation to keep me going.” (Kyle et al. 33) He pushed through all of the hard situations because he knew he had to when it came to war. If he did not, it would have been very difficult to make it through alive. He was willing to leave his family to fight and his motivation was to keep his family and country safe.
