English 1101 compositions 1 and FYE 1220 are both a freshman college course that’s required. English 1101 is taught in the writing and linguistics course. You start out writing crap and think it’s good stuff, and you gradually get better at it. That’s why I say one of the most valuable traits is persistence”(1). That quote means a lot to the students in her courses because she knows how hard it is to write and mistakes do occur so it takes time for a good paper. Although, Bolding words are tools for emphasis. Because if everything is emphasis, then nothing is emphasis and Professor D uses more bold word for effectiveness. Most of any syllabus would have bold words and in these two syllabuses they do for an example on the FYE seminar syllabus words are bold like “Attendance and Participation,” and “Assignments and Grades”(Professor D 2). Making it stand out more because she wants the class to know the importance on it to make a statement for her students. In the Course Syllabus Chapter says “Convey your students what matters to you about learning”(1) Professor A really talks much about that more than Professor D. Professor D knows how to put the details in small sentences for key points. In the syllabuses they convey learning environments for the students. The syllabuses help guide of what will be expected of you and the teacher in the courses. They include courses policies, rules and regulations, required text, and a schedule of assignments. Syllabus tells you nearly everything you need to know and how it will be run.
