Cultural humility requires nurses to be humble, open, aware of personal biases, and willing to learn about the diverse patients, families, and colleagues they work with. This can be obtained successfully by actively listening, respecting choices and perspectives, as well as being ambitious in learning new cultural beliefs and practices (Potter, 2019).
