“Let’s Role” is an inspirational biograph written by Lisa Beamer. Throughout the book, she elaborates on Todd’s and her life, specifically the events involving Flight 93. Flight 93 is the hijacked plane that crashed into a field in Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001. Lisa’s husband Todd, was a passenger on that plane and died a hero. Before any of this, Todd and Lisa were two young children just like everyone else. They both grew up in stable, Christian homes. When Lisa was young, her father suffered an aortic aneurysm and passed away. She did not know it then, but she would look back on this tragic event on the days following September 11. Todd then started working for a software company called Oracle. This company gave him many traveling opportunities both fun and business related. After four years of marriage, they began to have children. David Paul came first in 1998, two years later came Andrew Todd. In June 2001, they became pregnant again, but this time Todd would not be able to meet their child. A week before September 11, Todd and Lisa were able to go to Rome with Oracle. Todd did not bring his work along, and they had a marvelous time. Upon getting home, Todd had a quick turn around and was leaving for a business meeting. His plane was Flight 93 heading for San Francisco. It was scheduled to depart at 8:00am, but because of delays, it did not take off until 8:42am. Many believe this delay is what allowed the passengers to gain knowledge of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. The four terrorists on the plane were believed to have slit the Pilots throats upon taking control of the plane. Then, they informed the passengers they had a bomb on board and were taking the plane back to the airport.
