As a class, one of the requirements was to attend the peak fair, which is an event that allows students to network with real world companies who could end up being their potential destination for internships, future jobs, or other colleges that could be the place where you get your masters. My experience was very successful. I was able to network with three very different but unique companies that were able to offer me some powerful insight as to what it is like to be an intern at their company and what qualities they are looking for during the interview process when determining who to hire. Three companies I was able to network with were, Enterprise Rental Car, Northwestern Mutual and New York Life Insurance. Enterprise was an interesting company to learn about because it provided with insight that I may not have known prior to attending the fair. The company was Northwestern Mutual. I spoke with two women, one was named Stacie Regan and the other was Danielle Paprocki. They both work out of the Manchester office. Stacie is the Director of Internship Development and she made an excellent pitch of why Northwestern Mutual is the place for me. Being a top ten Internship in the country, Northwestern offers you the ability to consult with clients, assist clients in building a secure financial future, schedule appointments, find opportunities to work in personal, business and estate analysis markets, and to train with a mentor. In 2013 Northwestern Mutual brought in 3,299 interns with 500 internship college teams and 14,084 lives written by interns.
