Pro Gay Community Why do many people ridicule others because of who they are or for liking who they like? For many years the gay community was frowned upon by society until June 26, 2016. Although it is illegal in some other places, America allows every man and women to have equal rights and embrace who they are. With that in mind, I am pro gay marriage for many reasons. I believe that all people should be able to express themselves comfortably. While others oppose gay marriage for religious reasons, I find that any base of a religion is about loving each other no matter what. Also, contrary to popular belief, being raised by gay parents will have no different effect on a child than being raised by straight parents. In society today, although same sex relations are legal in the United States, many people are still very submissive to what others think of them and if they will be accepted, so they choose to keep their true selves hidden. The Supreme Court’s ruling makes it clear that clergy and religious organizations are not obligated to perform same-sex marriages, and because of this, many choose not to. Everyone tends to forget that the Bible instructs people to hate the sin, but love the person, so even if in the eyes of a devout Christian someone is sinning, if they absolutely must, even though it isn't any of their business in the first place, they’d dislike the action of having homosexual sex, not hating the person who takes part in it. There are many religious members of the LGBT+ Community that experience inner conflict because their religion doesn't look at their lifestyle fondly.
