Seed germination is crucial when looking at a seed's life. It is the beginning of its existence and plays a key role in how the seed will grow from there on out. When looking at seed germination dealing with various salt concentrations, the outcome of the experiment can result in many factors. If salt concentrations affect the rate of seed germination, then a positive control of water would germinate faster than the affected seeds with various diluted salt concentrations. In the end, the effect of the assorted salt concentrations does tend to slow down the rate of germination with all of the different concentrations. One reason that could happen is because one researcher did not conduct the experiment correctly, so their data brought the average …show more content…
First, keeping the seeds in the same area with the same temperature and the amount of sunlight would help the odds of the fluctuation within the different concentration results. Having every bag in the same region would then factor out any skepticism that those two factors effected the overall germination. Second, if everyone has to test the various concentrations, why not test every concentration so there would be even more data tied to the germination and maybe an improvement on the experiment. A final improvement for the effect of salt concentrations on germination could be the number of trials completed. Usually in an effective experiment, many trials are done so the data can line up for any mistakes made. If the experiment were to call for three or even four trails for the data, the outcome would be more reliable and more persistent with each outside factor coming into play.
When observing the experiment done with buckwheat, it can be specifically related to many others. Buckwheat's germination in this experiment was affected by the various salt solutions and the outcome of the investigation was a favorable outcome. When looking at the same experiment, but with other types of seeds, the outcome seems to line up the exact same. So, choosing buckwheat over any other seed did not have a huge effect on the result of the final
