Assumption 1:

A social construction is a social-structural force that influences human behavior. Social facts such as rules and customs are examples of external forces that influence a person’s behavior in society. Society is a social construction because there are things in some cultures that are not allowed, while in others it is. For example, in India, a cow is considered sacred and should not be killed for any reason. In many other counties, cows are commonly killed to feed people. I am constrained by society every time I wait at a sidewalk when the red hand is showing. Also, every time I sit in a car and put my seatbelt on is an example of how society is a social construction.

Assumption 2:

The economic downturn shows how society is an emergent reality and can create new social realities. Due to the economic downturn, many people lost their jobs, there were partial market crashes and a downward social mobility. People were genuinely afraid due to the economic damages that were observed. This interaction is considered a microsocial interaction because it occurs at a small level. These day-to-day interactions between individuals are investigated through observations of small groups. An example of macrosociological analysis is that in order to work in most fields a college degree is necessary. Social intuitions such as the government and economy influence this behavior. A college degree is needed to work as a secretary, fashion designer, biologist and many other positions. Since education is attainable for many people, in order to get most of these jobs a college degree is required. These jobs have higher salaries compared to jobs that do not require a college
