President Donald Trump announced earlier that he plans to reinstate a ban on transgender individuals from serving "in any capacity" in the US armed forces.

The U.S. military has one goal, to protect and defend. Or as Article 1 section 8 of the Constitution reads, "to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions."

The Military is not a pride campaign. It's not a "petri-dish" social experiment. It doesn't matter if you are the most patriotic person in the United States. Being in the military is not a right it's a privilege. People have been denied due to being overweight, underweight, too short, and too sick. After doing some research, I found a study that stated "Prevalence of suicide attempts is elevated among those who disclose to everyone that they are transgender or gender-non-conforming (50%) and among those that report others can tell always (42%) or most of the time (45%) that they are transgender or gender non-conforming even if they don’t tell them"

Serving in the military is by no means easy. You make hard sacrifices everyday and sometimes that includes not being able to come home to your family. When you are in the military you will have rigorous training. The military trains you to go to war. Last I checked when you're away at war -- you will need to be mentally capable to handle death on a regular basis and be able to kill to defend yourself and others around you.

You need to be mentally capable of handling that kind of physical and psychological trauma. When doing research on suicide rate among U.S veterans -- I found that each year we lose 5,000 veterans to suicide.

With the suicide rates of transexual people -- they are being set up to fail. War is by no means "PC". The next war we have is more than likely going to be over seas in the middle east.
