The job of a teacher is extremely rewarding since it gives the opportunity of becoming part of a person’s life and imprint in his mind the knowledge that will allow him achieve greater goals. It is a two-way process in which both, teacher and students, have the opportunity to learn from each other.
During my teaching practice, my students taught me that each one learns differently and has a different capacity to process and apply information. Therefore, different activities and methods should be used during class time. Their commitment to learn a second language coming so early every day, with a positive attitude, also taught me that there is no obstacle when you have a genuine desire to achieve something.

During the Fluent Use Stage, they went back to their papers and were asked to engage in a conversation where they were expected to share what they wrote, now expressed as a present tense sentence followed by the corresponding “I wish” sentence. At first, students seem hesitant, but after the first group of sentences, they seemed more comfortable when formulating new ones. All three students had an active participation, sharing their concerns and wishes, using the appropriate grammatical structure.
When students feel respected and supported by the teacher, they gain confidence and strive when applying new concepts. This is something that I have seen during my teaching experience with kids, and proven to be the same with adults. It is also true that if students can relate the learning to their daily lives, it will be more meaningful and long lasting.
Next time, I will have my students practicing more a new concept before going to the Fluent Use Stage; this, in order to allow them to begin the activity more confident about their capabilities. I will definitely will continue using the activity, which is highly adaptable to other topics, and gives the opportunity to begin and end the lesson using the same material (closing a
