In this class I have learned many new things about education and becoming an educator. I learned how an educator is supposed to present themselves and the correct way to be professional. I learned this by looking at the Alabama Code of Ethics and the Dispositions. The Code of Ethics and the Dispositions will help me become a better educator and I will know what I can and cannot do as a teacher. I will know my rights as an educator and it will keep me safe through out my career. In class we discussed and watched a video called “A Brief Overview of Education Law & Professional Ethics,” watching this video taught me the rights that I have a teacher and certain things that could get me in trouble with the law or anything that could revoke my teaching certificate. …show more content…

I have learned that as an educator I need to be there for my students, protect them, and care for them as my own children. I learned about certain strategies and techniques I can use in the classroom. We discussed how important it is to prevent misbehavior in the classroom. Some prevention strategies I learned are; to plan and anticipate, have high expectations, focus on the relationships with your students, do not give up on students who have a label. These techniques will assist me as a teacher to prevent misbehavior and to have a good classroom management. Another technique I learned is to create good classroom procedures and rules. Having good procedures and rules will allow the students to know what I expect in the classroom and the class will run fluently. I also learned about motivation in students. We discussed certain strategies that we can use as an educator to increase motivation in the classroom. Some strategies that I will use in my classroom are; to use rewards sparingly, make my students feel welcomed, be positive, use praise orally, promote mastery learning, and use clear and constructive
