The judicial branch in the state of Texas is set up by different courts. It is set up by the ranks of the courts. There are several of kinds of courts in the state of Texas. There is a many kinds of courts in the state of Texas. Which don’t seem to be a lot but it is. They all have different reasoning’s for them.
The first court which is the highest in the state of Texas is the Supreme Court. It hears civil cases. The Texas Supreme Court do not handle any criminal cases. Although it does when it comes to a juvenile. Which is considered as a civil manner. The Texas Supreme Court has Chief Justice and eight justices. The Supreme Court also handles the appellate rulings of the other courts.
The next court is the Court of Criminal Appeals. They are consisted of Presiding Judge and eight judges. This Court has statewide and also final appellate jurisdiction of criminal cases. They also make rules of post-trial and appellate procedure for criminal cases. Most of the cases they handle are from one of the 14 intermediate courts of appeal. Texas has a total of 14 Courts of Appeals. These courts have intermediate appellate jurisdiction of both civil and also criminal cases. When it comes to the death penalty it surpasses these courts and heads straight to the Texas Courts of criminal Appeals. These courts has 80 justices divided amongst the 14 of them. Theses courts are located in different cities. The first and fourteenth is located in Houston, the second is located in Fort Worth, and the third is located in Austin. The fourth is located in San Antonio, the fifth is located in Dallas, and the sixth is located in Texarkana. The seventh is located in Amarillo, the eighth is located in El Paso, the ninth is located Beaumont. The tenth is located in Waco.
