Tuesdays With Morrie By Mitch Albom and The Last Lecture By Randy Pausch both deal with how a person lives and not how they die from the disease. Morrie and Randy were both educators. Both books are not really sad. Morrie taught us to dance while you can with no regrets. To laugh to love and to put others first. Randy taught us not only to follow our dreams but help others follow there dreams. There aren’t many people like Morrie in the world. People die every day. However, Randy Pausch comes close to Morrie’s impressive stature. Randy was a professor at Carnegie Mellon who was diagnosed with cancer and was only given a short time to live. One is that they both show that every problem has a solution and can sometimes be solved. Some of Randy’s lessons are that you should have a specific dream, have fun, be good at something, do the right thing, never give up, show gratitude, and find the best n someone not the worst. Some of Morrie’s lessons are to “accept what you are able to do and what you are not able to do.”“Accept the past as past, without denying it or discarding it.” “Learn to forgive yourself and to forgive others.” Life's too short to fight and not be involved in the things you want to be involved in never give up just be you don’t have much time left. Randy and Morrie both have different lessons on how life should be lived when you don’t have much time left. Throughout the novel he shared stories from his past and childhood. Considering both Randy Pausch and Morrie Schwartz were educators I had the assumption that The Last Lecture would include many life lessons and tips that would be associated with Morrie's. However I came to discover that Randy Pausch shared more stories relating to events that happened in his life and to other people. In contrast Morrie focused on life as a whole not individual
