When you hear Rome what do you think of? Do you think of an Empire, power, or even a old place that no one really remembers anymore. Now these might all be true and if they were then what happened to them you might ask? They had so much power and money, they were one of the strongests empires to ever have been created. So many questions on their downfall but i’ll stick to the simplistics. What was the primary reason for Rome's fall or ending? I think the main reasons are simply that they became lazy and neglected their people and their army etc, diseases & natural disasters, and finally foreign invasions.
The first reason for Rome's fall was because of their neglect and laziness. It is not a surprise that people who are in power get used to being in control. They often forget the risks and dangers that come with the power. Soon there Emperors began to be killed or assassinated every 1 or 2 years which spread panic. Natural disasters and diseases in modern day society are common things but not back then. In Rome diseases and natural disasters were hard to understand and even cure. Rome had many natural disasters including earthquakes. The earthquakes had shaken The Roman Empire so violently that the Mediterranean sea had been left empty. The ocean flooded places such as Egypt, Sicily, and greece. More than 50,000 people lost their life due to the earthquake. The diseases in Rome wiped out the population. The Roman empire was strong and powerful but no empire had the resources needed to cure the diseases roaming around. Plagues, measles, and other diseases from asia.
