This electric company has been loyal to its employees and its customers for over the past 70 years. The company has been selected as excellent place to work and that is one of the reasons why the company has been doing so well. Tons of families have been working for the company, which made the environment more family oriented. The company provides very safe environment for all the employees and everyone loves working there. Because the company has been around for such a long time, a lot of employees are children and grandchildren from current or former employees. This is not a great feeling if employees are living in fear of getting fired. Those people who got fired did not do anything wrong; it is just that company could not afford to have more employees due to technology development. The right thing to do after firing big amount of people is to treat those people well as they leave the company. The ethical reason to do would be pay employees for accumulated days off that they have gotten while they have been working for the company so they would be able to have some money until they find another job. Also, another way to make them feel better would be to have an exit interview with them and kindly explained them that they did not get fired because they did something wrong. This will be a fresh start for all employee and a way of moving forward. It is not easy to have people leave the company but that is not the end of the world. No matter what, everybody needs to move forward and to strive for something bigger. In this case, it is a little bit different because there are a lot of families that work for the company but this problem will be solved like any other. The goal of this training would be to go through the new rules and explain everybody the technological advancement that company had. It is important for employees to improve and learn more and move forward like technology does. Nowadays, technology moves so fast and it is important to stay on track with it. This training will help employees to learn more about what their tasks are and to give them opportunity to learn more about higher positions so they will be able to get promoted if they deserve.
