According to Hinkle and Cheever (2014), Evidence-based practice is not about emerging new knowledge or confirming existing knowledge. It is about interpreting the evidence and applying it to clinical decision-making. And clinical opinion validates existing knowledge based on a theory. Furthermore, Evidence-based practice is a practice that is supported by the reaches that considers the health care setting, patients, and clinical judgment (Hinkle and Cheever, 7) This week I was able to practice in relaxation techniques with my patient.
Therefore, practice and research needs to be clearly identified and be kept separated because they represent two different acts. When a patient gives healthcare professionals the permission to “practice”, it is solely for the purpose to improve their health outcomes. By accepting and allowing practice, it does not constitute an agreement be participate in a research. It would be crossing the boundaries to perform a research when the healthcare professionals were expected to improve patient’s well-being.
In my opinion, to ensure that a treatment program is evidence based, a probation officer must know current “evidence-based practices” that already work in Probation and Parole supervision. They should have knowledge of evidence-based practices that apply to program providers, field officers, supervisors, and administrators. Ultimately, I believe that it is always necessary to improve one’s knowledge and skills, then apply them into practice, utilizing only what constitutes an evidence-based effective approach.

The impact of evidence based practice (EBV) has reflected across the nursing practice, education and science. I have been able to acquire a better knowledge of how research relates to nursing practice, and how findings could be used to transform the field of nursing. As a nurse, I have been able to recognize shortcomings with element of practice, process and procedures. However, I lack a strong ability to create a strategy for change. From this class, I have been able to know the constituents of an evidence based project including a PICOT question.
I believe out of the seven evidence based decision making implementation principles, there are two that are consistent with the idea of recognizing failure to promote innovation. “ Treat your organization as an unfinished prototype” is the first evidence, we shouldn’t be afraid to accept new ideas or concepts in our company. Employees should feel comfortable thinking outside the box and coming to us with any idea, no matter how silly they may seem. The second one is the seven evidence that states that “we should learn from failure by using the facts to make things better.”
The literature offers a variety of definitions for the term evidence-based practices (EBP). One description of EBP is that it can be used as a decision-making process which is supported by the best available evidence and professional judgement. Gibbs (2003) and Gambrill (2001) refer to this as a framework or model that is more than the use of research-supported interventions because it embodies a comprehensive approach to practice. Adopting such an approach provides practitioners with the freedom to choose interventions that have available evidence for decision-making, rather than making intervention decisions on the basis of other criteria. Alternatively, evidence-based practice is used to refer to specific interventions that have been reviewed and met a level of evidentiary standard.
1. CONCEPT 1-EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE IN NURSING This concept was deducted from module 2 with the topic “Concept of Evidence-based practice”. The questions that arise from a practicing nurse may provide more information than a student of nursing. Therefore, Streuer urges organizations to adopt a model for evidence-based practice, such as the Stevens (2004) ACE Star Model of Knowledge Transformation.
I find the uptake of evidence-based practice is one of the fields that has profoundly affected the paradigm shift and is woven into each of the nursing fields, and since wide researches have been conducted so far, it imperative to note that the available material will equip and provide needed assistance. Stevens (2013) argues that the use of the knowledge which is gained from quality improvement efforts will definitely generate evidence needed to make systems improvements and transform healthcare. PERSONAL CONTEXT I am personally convinced that evidence based nursing improve the health and safety of patients and also provide care in a cost-effective manner in other to improve the outcome of both patients and health care system. I personally believed that adequate implementation of evident based nursing, the knowledge of the nurse, the patient’s preferences and multiple studies of evidence must be collaborated and utilized in order to produce an appropriate solution.
Giving care to a patient is not a straightforward process because a patient is made up of advanced systems. Symptoms and the severity of a disease process are dependent on a particular patient, and it may not always be uniform from patient to patient. Because of this, nurses must be able to use their knowledge appropriately to help a patient. Nurses use techniques, such as Evidence Based Practice, in order to integrate new and advanced knowledge into their patient care (Canada, 2016). By exercising evidence based practice, nurses effectively seek knowledge, take experience from past situations, and apply this intelligence to best give patient care (Canada, 2016).
