An apology is a formal admission of a person who had wronged others and had felt sorry for it. “Oh, I apologize for ….” It’s true that sentence with the word ‘apologize’ are always ubiquitous in our daily lives. We have realized that there is a need to apologize when something we are responsible for goes wrong unexpectedly; moreover, the word ‘sorry’ has become one of the most commonly used words by people from different races and cultures. A genuine apology is one of the most intense interactions between people. It has a special and unique ability to renovate damaged bond between two people, or between groups. As a result, the word ‘sorry’ can heal someone’s indignity and trigger forgiveness. We can say that an apology is a formal admission of one’s wrongdoing or guilt.
We spent most of our time to contribute to the society or even to do our best to make something better no matter in our work or in our relationship. But when something that we are responsible for goes wrong unexpectedly, most of us will feel regretful and it is our responsible to admit our wrongdoing

For example, most people will likely to say “I’m sorry and my condolences on your demise of your …” when they attend one of their friends or relatives' funeral. Does the “sorry” word in this situation means admitting a wrongdoing? It is obvious that the example above proves the word “sorry” have a meaning of expressing sorrow for something happened that doesn't necessarily have to be related; however, an apology also contains “sorry” too, but we apologize for regretting our wrong actions. You can say “sorry” for expressing sympathy, but you apologize for regretting of your mistake or motive.
