However, I think the clip from the Break-Up of Brooke and Gary were using destructive communication because the argument started out as a minor issue that escalate into a major problem. I believe this because of the couples reaction to how Gary responds to Brooke when she ask him are you going to do the dishes and Gary respond nonchalantly like cool, so this is when the destructive communication starts with the couple. Because Brooke had already been in an irritable mood, so her destructive communication defensive mode came into play, because how Gary was acting with not trying to help Brooke with the dishes, he just wanted to relax and play the game. Although Gary didn't want to do the dishes he wanted to relax after a long day of work, but Brooke wanted help with doing the dishes today, and not tomorrow like Gary suggested, so now Brooke ego has conflict with Gary ego now because she told Gary Oh come on. You know what, no, see that's not what I want then, Gary said you just want me to do the dishes, then Brooke said, that's my whole point. So now both partners are getting angry between each other because of their disagreement has escalated more all because of Gary not wanting to do the dishes.
