Lack of Communication in a Relationship

To communicate in a relationship is essential to keep that relationship in check. When a relationship suffers whether it be a parent and child relationship, dating, or marriage, communication is very important. People may not realize that their partner, spouse or child can be hurting on the inside and without communication that hurt can lead to bigger problems such as eating problems, depression, and aggression.

In some instances communication problems between the parent and child may lead to internal destruction for the child. The child may have nightmares of fears they have that they are scared to tell the parent. For instance one may dream of never being good enough, fast enough, healthy enough to receive that parents approval in a life or death situation such as saving someone from falling from a high place to their death below. The parent may not realize what they are doing to the child because every time the child tries to talk to them about it they may just assume that the child is making excuses or simply wants attention or is being dramatic. When the parent tells these things to the child he or she will begin to hold things in. They may hold these things in for years and years and the parent would not even know until the child does something drastic or finally can not hold it in and has a nervous breakdown or worse. …show more content…

If they lose too much weight they could become malnutrition and this can lead to mental problems and just overall weakness.
